On Saturday 1st March 2008 there's a whole day of workshops, discussions and debates about climate change and how we prepare for it.
It's at the Central Hall on Oldham St, Central Manchester (just a few doors up from the Oxfam shop).

The  keynote speaker is Professor Roy Alexander, talking about Ashton Hayes, (the village in Cheshire that is trying to go carbon neutral.)
Other sessions (there are almost 20)  include "Women and children first? Gender and Climate Change", "Corporate Strategy: not just Greenwash", "Aviation and Manchester: Joined at the Hip?" and "Religious perspectives on Climate Change."

All through the day real live climate scientists will be available to discuss the issues and answer your questions.

There'll be loads of opportunities to meet people doing all sorts of interesting projects and activities and swap contact details.

There's a website with more information: www.manchesterclimateforum.org.uk/march1st.html
This twebsite will be updated after the event with minutes from each workshop/discussion, and will give links for further reading etc

It's a FREE EVENT, but the organisers WILL be asking  for donations, since they get no funding from government/council/NGOs/political parties etc.
