"The Science of Climate Change", Thursday Feb 15th 2007 75 people heard Dr Kevin Anderson of the Tyndall Centre give an account of the findings of the latest IPCC report, and an explanation of the urgent need for immediate and drastic demand reduction (as opposed to waiting for new 'low-carbon' energy generation to come on line) feb 15th booklet

Approx 40 people heard presentations on the different tecnological fixes for Climate Change.  And an excellent critique of the Channel 4 mockumentary "The Great Global Warming Swindle march 28th booklet
"Climate Change: Information for Action"
Saturday May 19th 2007
Approx 30 people (see a trajectory here?!) who didn't want to watch the FA cup or study for their exams, were able to attend a wide variety of workshops (see programme)

"Climate Change: What's coming and what YOU can do in Manchester"
Thursday October 25th
About 65 people heard from Professor Geraint Vaughan of Manchester Unvieristy, who gave a clear and disturbing presentation, followed by detailed and lively answers.  After a break, there were 'micro-presentations' from many of the groups active in Manchester.  A well-attended and well-facilitated meeting, that finished on time. For the first time, there were stalls in the concourse, so people could browse reading materials etc. october 25th booklet
The Great Aviation Debate (Nov 15th 2007) About 165 people (yes, one hundred and sixty five) heard from six panellists with different views about the future of aviation.  Excellently moderated by Colin Sykes of the BBC Great Aviation Debate booklet
Bali and Beyond and "What to DO in 2008"

About 40 to 45 people heard from Deepak Rughani of Biofuelwatch about the outcomes of the Bali climate negotiations, and then were forced to actually talk to other people that they didn't know (very un-British) in a second half made up of icebreaking and brainstorming very didactic booklet will be posted here...
Climate Change: it's time to prepare

About 60 people through the course of the day (but never more than 45 at any one time) attended various workshops through the course of a day, topped off with a final session working in small groups.
Next time, MCF will organise fewer, longer workshops, with a mid-afternoon break for mingling...
